After another overnight train journey and hydrofoil from Guangzhou we arrived in Hong Kong.

We stayed in Kowloon across the water from the the main island

The first thing most of us did upon arriving in Hong Kong was to go up Victoria Peak. There is a Alpine-style railway that goes up to the main viewpoint that looks out across the harbour.

Some of us also went on the hillside escalator link, an 800m long moving walkway up Victoria Peak.

Those of us who stayed for an extra day or two also had time to visit some other attractions around Hong Kong such as "Lama Island" - a small quiet island away from the busy city and only a 30 minute boat journey away.

This was also the best time to do some shopping! The night market in Kowloon (just off Nathan Road) was near our hotel.

It was in the market that we enjoyed our last meal together (one of the dishes being deep fried frog!).
