Yangshuo is a fun place to visit. After having been to Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai it was a pleasant change to be in the countryside. The nightlife, although small centred on the main street in Yangshuo with restaurants and bars and food and drink was served at quite reasonable prices. Rich even bought a guitar in Xi'an and the singing was instigated by Dave and Ollie (top left and below right). One night dinner was enjoyed at a cousin of Lisa's and it was quite a spread! There were many daytime activities to help the tourist spend their money - such as rock climbing, boat trips, caving (with or without a "muddy bath", see left) Finally, who could forget "Baby Panda", one of the waitresses at Lisa'a. A very confident (if sometimes a bit rude) girl with an excellent grasp of English. |
